HOW TO TELL IF SUGAR IS HIDING IN YOUR FOOD – CHECK THE INGREDIENTS LIST FOR THE FOLLOWING WORDS

Dextrose, fructose, honey, cane syrup, corn syrup, crystalline, lactose, sucrose, turbinado, xylitol, sorghum syrup, molasses, glucose, maple syrup, anything caramelized, barley malt, maltodextrin, mannitol, sorbitol, sucanat, white grape juice and any other ingredients ending in “OSE”

The closer they are to the beginning of the ingredients list the bigger the amount of sugar in the product.

Spices add the perception of sweetness. Try nutmeg or cinnamon on oatmeal, ginger on cooked vegetables, cloves or cinnamon with applesauce. Add cinnamon to coffee before brewing.
