Looking for a place to get involved?

Our senior centers provide the perfect place for active older people to meet new friends, keep up with their acquaintances, join a few health and wellness activities, or get a hot nutritious lunch. Every center keeps its own schedule of special activities, so you should always contact your local center to find out what’s available in your area.

Older adults might enjoy bingo, pool, dancing, quilting, card games, yoga, strength training, art classes, and other indoor activities for seniors. Many of our senior centers also offer support groups, and other chronic disease self-management programs.

Our senior centers offer transportation to and from the senior centers. Transportation services include pick-up, drop-off, and some additional stops for errands enroute.

Alongside providers, David Boone Ministries, Inc., Calhoun County, and Community Living Arrangement (CLA), AAASWA continues to offer congregate, and home delivered meal programs throughout 12 counties in southwest Arkansas. These programs are a part of The National Senior Nutrition Program under the Older Americans Act (OAA).

During the pandemic, AAASWA moved emergency funds into the meal programs in an effort to continue and support these programs to the best of their ability.

An individual over the age of 60, may qualify for meal programs based on certain criteria. The senior center team will assess the client for approval for home delivered meal status. For your convenience, you can complete and submit your application online on the bottom half of our contact page.

Another option is to contact the case manager for your county. You may also find them listed on our website at the bottom of our home page.
