Masks Required; Centers Still Open

Masks Required; Centers Still Open

With the continued rise of COVID cases in our area, AAASWA is recommending that all senior centers reinstate the mask mandate for all employees and clients, beginning Monday, August 16, 2021.

Agency employees and providers will be following the CDC data regarding the level of community transmission for our area and will utilize a “stop light” indicator system, depending on the level of community transmission:

RED: The level of community transmission is high, masks are required regardless of vaccination status.

YELLOW: The level of community transmission is moderate, masks are recommended.

GREEN:  The level of community transmission is low, no mask requirement.

This will be done weekly and on a county by county basis. This will mean that some counties may be red and others be yellow or green.

You can keep track of your local information here.

Currently, the entire State of Arkansas is RED, as well as the surrounding states. Therefore, our entire 12 counties are required to wear masks.

At this time, we are not mandating the closing of senior centers. By taking these precautions we can keep the centers open and programs going.
