The Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Arkansas is pleased to announce the promotion of Pam Gatlin to Executive Director, following the retirement of longtime Executive Director Ruthie Langston.
Pam has been part of the Agency since October 1, 2014, serving in a variety of roles that have given her valuable experience and a strong understanding of the communities we serve. Throughout her career, she has worked as a Senior Advocate and Medicare Counselor, managed the rehabilitation of the Agency’s Lelia Street location, served as Executive Assistant to Ruthie, and managed Birchwood Apartments in Lewisville.
Her years of service have provided her with firsthand experience in supporting older adults, their families, and caregivers throughout Southwest Arkansas. As she steps into her new role, Pam looks forward to building on the Agency’s strong foundation and continuing its mission of helping older adults maintain their independence and quality of life.
Pam credits much of her professional growth to Ruthie’s leadership and mentorship over the years.
“Ruthie has been such an important part of my journey with the Agency. I am grateful for her guidance, encouragement, and the knowledge she has shared with me. Her confidence in my abilities has helped prepare me for this next chapter, and I will always appreciate the time and care she has invested in me. I wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.”
Pam also recognizes the dedication of the Agency’s staff and the important work they do each day to support older adults and their families across our 12-county service area.
“I’m excited about what lies ahead for our Agency. We have an important job to do, and I look forward to continuing that work together. Our older adults, their families, and our communities are at the heart of everything we do, and serving them will always remain our priority.”
As we welcome Pam into her new role, we also extend our sincere appreciation to Ruthie for her years of leadership, dedication, and service to the Agency and the communities of Southwest Arkansas.
Please join us in congratulating Pam on her promotion and wishing Ruthie a wonderful retirement!
